How to use the Combination Lock

Step 1.  Perform Visual Inspection Combination Lock
• Plastic safety tab should be intact (woven through numbered dials). 
• ALL three dials should be centered on “ZERO” (refer to picture A).

Step 2.  Pre-Set Test Combination Lock
• With safety tab still intact SLIDE square button away from numbered dials. 
• This should result in release of latch in to the open position.  If your latch flipped up to the open position you have successfully confirmed the lock assembly is working properly (refer to picture B- left lock & C – right lock). 
• Now, decide what your desired 3–digit code will be before attempting to set it in step 3.  Please note there is no secret code to bypass a set combination if forgotten, so WRITE it down.   

Step 3.  Set Combination
• Leave latch in open position. 
• Now carefully cut and remove safety tab (refer to picture D). 
• With latch still in the open position, SLIDE square button in towards numbered dials and HOLD it in this position.  It is VERY important that you HOLD button in this position until your desired three digit combination is set. 
• Set each numbered dial one at a time.  (Remember to HOLD button in place, do NOT release) Roll numbered dial down until you reach your desired digit.  Repeat this step for the other dials.  Make sure the digits are centered across the middle of the lock assembly (refer to picture E). 
• NOW it is safe to release button, but please leave latch in the open position until Post-Set Test is complete.

Step 4. Post-Set Test  Combination Lock
• With latch still in the open position, scramble numbered dials by rolling them down off of your chosen combination code.  At this time you should not be able to slide the square button away from the numbered dials (mimicking a locked latch).
• Now, roll the numbered dials down and select your set combination digits/code.  The square button should now easily slide away from the numbered dials (mimicking an unlocked latch).
• At this time press latch down in to the closed position and begin the use of your new Vaultz® Security Storage Product.

Step 5.  If your Vaultz® product contains TWO combination locks please repeat steps 1-4 to set the second lock.
